Carvery is very generous and only £6.95. Kids portions are big and cooked nicely. Nice and warm, cozy atmosphere with country music playing. We'll definitely come back again.

The Elm Tree Inn

Low Rd, Elm, Wisbech PE14 0DD, UK – 01945 587009

We visited for Christmas Day lunch yesterday. I was surprised to not only have to pay the deposit, but also the entire meal up front a few days before Christmas. I understand the need to minimise wastage but paying for a meal before knowing what the outcome will be like is strange. Luckily, the food was good. Our starters were the mushroom soup and baked Camembert. The soup was fantastic and had lots of chunky mushrooms and a wonderful rocket pesto drizzle. The Camembert was also well prepared with a good crumb and a nice, sweet apple slaw. For mains, our group had the turkey and the sea bass. There was plenty of turkey, but also plenty (too much) gravy which, whilst nice, was over salted. I’d definitely suggest to the restaurant serving the gravy on the side so people can serve themselves to their preference. Also, one minor gripe but I know it’s not traditional to have Yorkshire Puddings with turkey, but it is 2017, and becoming tradition to have Yorkshire Puddings with any roast! The sea bass was very good - fresh and well cooked with a lovely sauce. Desert was Tarte au Citron and Chocolate Torte, which were both fine. Finishing off with coffees and warm mince pies was a nice end to a nice lunch. Fantastic, swift and warm service. All in all, a nice, tasty and filling change from the usual stress and fuss of a home cooked Christmas lunch. We definitely needed the 25m walk home after it!

We have had two lunches and two evening meals there over the last year. The food has always been very good indeed and the service excellent. Really good value for money.

Gourmet Oriental

Such a good place to go for authentic Chinese dishes

The food is fantastic, the people are very friendly and even takeaway, it is as good as in the resturant. If you want a great night out or in, then I highly recommend this place, all the other Chinese takeaways don't come close to the quality here.
